You made it! Happy New Year! 🎆💛🥂
In what seemed like one step at a time, we went through a lot of experiences, struggles, wins, and emotions, and we survived. I am excited to write to you again because I am optimistic about the things we could do for ourselves and together this year.
Let me tell you something real quick. This year, we are living the life we deserve. You have been through so much and it is time to leave everything that makes you feel unworthy of a good life and start doing things that reassure you of a better life.
It can be scary and challenging to start afresh or even start anything. To evolve comes with its what ifs and most times on the negative path. However, you are changing that this year.
How do you find the courage to start afresh?
There are three ways you can begin to turn your life around. They have worked for me so I know they can work for you, too.
Find your tribe and stick with them.
Surrounding yourself with people and practices that directly and indirectly push you to challenge yourself and grow is one of the best things you can do for yourself. That is why the rich keep getting richer. Wealth ensures it circulates and grows among the wealthy and so does everything else that matters. Take some time to identify genuine, goal-driven, and passionate individuals who care about growth and fuel your social well-being. They will be your backbone for a better version of yourself.
If you are always the smartest person in the room, you are likely in the wrong room.
Look inward to find yourself
One of my biggest lessons of 2023 is that the solution is in the problem. The cure is often in the disease. We often look elsewhere and are willing to embrace external suggestions to solve our problems without looking directly at the core of the problem. Do you know that the easiest way to remove soot from your window is by cleaning it with Ash? The remedy to a snake bite is in its venom. A perfect example of the cure is in the disease. Of course, external solutions can be helpful, but there are often times when you simply need to look inwards to discover yourself before you can start the journey of a better life. Ask yourself the tough questions:
Who have you been?
Who are you now?
Who do want to become?
Why do you want a better life?
What do you want to be remembered for?
The answers to these questions will tell you if you are ready to live a life for yourself.
The cure is in the disease.
Practice discipline consistently
I always knew consistency pays and when I had a first-hand experience, it changed the way I see life.
Getting to the top is easy, what is difficult is staying there. That is where discipline and consistency come in. After you have found your tribe and done some soul-searching to discover who you want to be, once you start, you have to stay true to the course no matter what. Distractions will always be there in different appearances, so discipline is not optional.
On the days you struggle to find meaning in your new journey, let the why you started, be the reason you pick yourself up and keep going.
Remember, you are doing this for you. You owe yourself a life of peace, joy, and freedom. You can have that life you deserve.

"you simply need to look inwards to discover yourself"
We often know ourselves but get lost in expectations, external pressures, and momentum.
If you can remove the clutter, you give yourself the space to start whatever you want as the person you already are.
